Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital was founded in 1971 and is the origin of Hallym University Medical Center, the headquarter leading all five general Hallym hospitals. For half of a century, we have provided the highest quality medical service and led the development of medical science in Korea.

With its global competitiveness in capacity, facility, and medical quality in the field of burn treatment, it is widely known as one of the best burn specialized hospitals in Korea and the world.

Its global reputation is based on its multidisciplinary burn treatment among the departments of Burn Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry, and Internal Medicine. More than 3,600 acute burn patients are admitted every year and more than 5,500 cases of acute burn surgery are performed in the hospital.

We maintain the treatment level as high as that of medically advanced countries such as the United States and Europe. Our physicians have published a number of research papers to European and American Burn Societies and are working on the development of engineered skin substitutes and artificial organs using bioengineering technologies. In addition, we hold annual burn seminars every year to collaborate with the world’s leading experts and researchers, contributing to the development of burn treatment.

In particular, our medical social work services such as consulting with patients and their families, giving our patients a chance to join volunteer work, and providing medical aid and medical training to medically underprivileged countries helped us to become one of the leading burn care hospitals
