Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital recruited 35 new medical staffs including Professor Taik Jong Lee specializing in breast reconstruction, Professor Young Soo Do specializing in vascular intervention procedures, and Professor Soyoung Lee specializing in pediatric immunology in order to strengthen medical services.

Professor Taik Jong Lee has performed breast reconstruction surgery on more than 2,600 breast cancer patients for 20 years at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. He was Chairman of General Assembly at Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Chairman of General Assembly at The Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and Research Director of mastoplasty at Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is considered one of the best in Korea in the field of breast reconstruction.

In particular, Professor Taik Jong Lee established 'breast reconstruction surgery', which reconstructs breast cancer simultaneously with resection, in Korea. He served as an advisory committee for the Ministry of Health and Welfare and Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service. In 2015, he took charge of implementing breast reconstruction fee into health insurance benefits.

Professor Young Soo Do of Radiology is a well-known specialist on vascular malformation interventions who served as the head of vascular disease team at Samsung Medical Center and the president of the Korean Society of Interventional Radiology. He specializes in vascular interventional procedures such as vascular malformation treatment, liver cancer embolization, and uterine myoma embolization.

Professor Soyoung Lee of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine is an expert in pediatric rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. She served as a professor at Seoul National University Hospital and Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital after completing her doctoral program at Osaka University. She has experience in treating various patients, including pediatric rheumatic diseases, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency diseases, and pediatric infectious diseases.

Director Kyung Ho Yu of Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital said, “We have recruited 35 new faculty members from 26 medical departments including Professor Taik Jong Lee, Professor Young Soo Do and Professor Soyoung Lee.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to improve the quality of medical care for patients by recruiting excellent medical staff and introducing state-of-the-art medical equipment.”
