Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital were recently re-designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as regional emergency medical centers in southwestern Gyeonggi Province and Gangwon-Chuncheon Province.

The two hospitals that were designated as regional emergency medical centers in August 2016 passed the regional emergency medical center reassignment evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in August this year. For the next three years, they will be in charge of treating severe emergency patients in the southwestern Gyeonggi region including Anyang, Uiwang, Gunpo, Gwacheon and Gangwon-Chuncheon region including Chuncheon, Gapyeong, Yanggu, Inje, Hongcheon, and Hwacheon.

Regional Emergency Medical Center of Hallym Hospital is 1740 m² and has an operating room, intensive care unit, ward, and elevator for emergency patients and a separate emergency room for pediatric patients.

Medical staffs from major departments are on standby 24 hours a day, so it is possible to quickly and accurately provide emergency treatment for severe emergency patients. Many severe patients are being saved by operating a special ambulance for critically ill patients called ‘Hallym Mobile ICU’ that can transport patients to hospitals while continuing to maintain and recover the lives of emergency patients.

“All medical staff at our hospital is doing their best to ensure that emergency patients receive appropriate treatment within the golden hour. We will continue our various efforts for prompt treatment of critically ill patients in the local community,” said Director Kyung Ho Yu of Hallym Hospital.

Regional Emergency Medical Center of Chuncheon Hospital is 1220㎡ and it operates an operating room and an intensive care unit only for emergency patients. Also, it has an emergency care ward separately for children and for the first time in the country, all beds in general emergency patient areas have been made into single rooms.

Including pediatric emergency specialists, 13 specialists, 41 nurses, and 10 emergency medical technicians, they are taking care of emergency patients, and there are 24-hour specialists. Therefore, it has a system that can quickly and professionally take care of severe emergency patients.
