No.7496 Date2022-08-18 Hit 12725

Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital signed an MOU with the National Fire Agency(NFA) on August 18 for the establishment of a patient transport system in order to improve the survival rate of severe burn patients.

Hangang hospital is a specialized burn hospital designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and is the only burn-specialized university hospital in Korea that has 15 burn-related departments including Burn Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Psychiatry.

Through the MOU, NFA and Hangang hospital agreed to collaborate on establishing a cooperative system for the transport of severe burn patients, sharing information on burn-related clinical cases, applying new emergency medical services, providing materials for professional education, and improving the welfare of fire officials.

“We hope this MOU will improve the quality of national emergency services and contribute to public health and safety by improving the severe burn patient transport system,“ said Fire Commissioner Heung-Gyo Lee.

Director Jun Hur of Hangang hospital said, “Together with NFA, we will try our best to save more lives suffering from severe burns.” He added, "We will also take the lead in public health and safety."
