HUMC hospitals provide home care for COVID-19 patients

Three HUMC hospitals have been designated as home treatment providing facilities for COVID-19 patients by the government.
With the designation of this home treatment management hospital, patients with no symptoms or mild symptoms are now can receive treatment at home by HUMC hospitals. The patients in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, will be treated by Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital, patients in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, will be taken care by Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, and patients in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, will be treated by Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital.
The home treatment policy is designed to care for infected people at home for ten days who are aged under 70 showing minor or no symptoms. However, the confirmed patients whose residential environments are vulnerable to infections, or those who have difficulties in communicating through mobile apps are excluded.
According to the designation, each hospital will be in charge of pre-reviewing home treatment service considering clinical risks, confirming the target patients, initial questionnaire, 24-hour health monitoring, non-contact treatment and prescription issuance, mental health evaluation, and communication with public healthcare centers.
“With this designation, we will double our efforts in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the region and also actively participating in the transition to the phase of ‘living with COVID-19’ for the recovery of daily lives,” said Director Young-Goo Lee of Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital.
