Hallym University Medical Center held a virtual run event called ‘WeRunWeRo: we run together with you’ across the country from October 4 to 10, 2021.

WeRunWeRo is a donation event that is to give hope to neighbors who are in need of help due to COVID-19. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late founder Duck-Sun Yoon, the event is designed to support underprivileged youth in society and to give a hopeful message to the neighbors who suffer from the global pandemic.

Unlike other regular marathons, how fast the runner was not important. During the event, runners individually chose their desired time and space to run, following a social distancing policy. After running, simply posting their own record on their SNS was enough to participate. It was a new concept of virtual run that people can participate in the marathon under the strict social distancing rule.

The entry fee was KRW 30,000, and all participants were provided with souvenirs including functional sportswear, a mask, sports socks, and a commemoration medal.

The entry fees gathered from all participants were donated to Sangnok Orphanage, Sillim Social Welfare Center, Yeongdeungpo Senior Welfare Center, and Hallym Burn Foundation. HUMC plans to continuously support vulnerable children and teenagers who are having a harder time due to COVID-19 so that they do not give up on their 'dreams' and 'independence.’

For this event, a cosmetic company ‘Dr.Solution’ donated KRW 20 million worth of sun creams and an eco-friend bag producer ‘Pleats Mama’ donated KRW 19 million worth of eco-friendly upcycling bags.
