Kangnam, STARLABS sign MOU to establish Smart Hospital

Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital signed an MOU with STARLABS to realize its plan to establish the nation’s best smart hospital. STARLABS is a Korean company specializing in cloud platform, artificial intelligence, and big data.


The partnership between Kangnam Hospital and STARLABS is to develop advanced medical services and to improve patient services through AI-led big data analysis.


The ceremony, held on June 2, was attended by hospital leadership including Director Young Goo Lee, Chief Medical Officer Yong Kyun Roh, Chief Planning Officer Dong Jin Lee of Kangnam Hospital, and CEO Joon Ho Lee of STARLABSTM.


“Close collaboration with domestic companies is the most important thing for us to grow into the best smart hospital in Korea,” said Director Lee. He added, “I believe if we can put together expertise and STARLABSTM’s technology, we will be able to greatly improve our medical technology and patient service.”


CEO Joon Ho Lee of STARLABS said, “Even before today’s partnership, we have maintained cooperative ties with the departments of Urology, Emergency Medicine, and Otorhinolaryngology in the field of medical big data analysis and algorithm development using medical data.” He added, “Through this MOU, we look forward to upgrading medical services and developing medical data analysis solutions with global competitiveness.”
