Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital helped the COVID-19 vaccination for local residents who are over 75 years old in Hwaseong-si from April 8 to 14. For the safe vaccination, the medical staff of Dongtan consulted with health authorities on the vaccination process and monitored the adverse events after the vaccination has been done.

Hwaseong-si has set up an official COVID-19 Vaccination Center in Dongtan earlier this month at the Naraewul Social Welfare Center which is operated by Hallym University Medical Center. According to the governmental guidelines, the center vaccinated 837 patients and healthcare workers at elderly care facilities in Dongtan and 11,485 senior citizens aged 75 and older who submitted consent forms on vaccination.

As the only university hospital in Hwaseong-si and also the hospital that is in cooperation with the Hwaseong-si and Hwaseong Public Health Center, Dongtan Hospital advised on the operation of the center and dispatched physicians of Infectious Diseases, Neurology, and Endocrinology departments for safe vaccination.

They engaged in the whole vaccination process from the preparation of the vaccination to the emergency treatment for adverse reactions. The hospital has joined the setup of the vaccination center a month ago and collaborated with Hwaseong-si and its public health center for the smooth operation of the center.

“We have been working closely with Hwaseong-si and its public health centers to fight against the coronavirus pandemic,” said Director Seong-Ho Lee and added, “We will proactively support the vaccination to help us get back to our daily lives as soon as possible.”
