No.6306 Date2019-11-08 Hit 24963

Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital opened its ‘New Wing’ on November 5 and started medical service. The establishment of the New Wing which consists of two buildings for clinics and researches is a part of the hospital’s vision to make the area the ‘Hallym Medical Town’ in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

With the opening the ‘New Wing,’ Kangnam hospital relocated some of medical departments to the newly expanded space. There are departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Otorhinolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery, Family Medicine and Health Promotion Center in the New Wing. The other 25 medical departments and the Emergency Medical Center are located in the ‘Main Building.’

Kangnam hospital set up cutting-edge medical equipment in the New Wing and upgraded the equipment and facilities in the ‘Main Building’ as well. The hospital has newly adopted 3.0T MRI, 256-channel MD CT, Digital Wide Angle Fundus Camera, Digital 3D Mammography, and electronic drug management system. It also rearranged the hospital space for safety and convenience so that the paths of outpatient clinic visitors and hospitalized patients are separated and patients can easily use the medical services.

This has lowered the risk of infection, reduced waiting times for patients, and improved the daily one-day care process of including medical consultation, check-up, and surgery. In addition, the New Wing has sufficient parking spaces in the basement floors, so it can accommodate about 1,000 vehicles a day.
