Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Nursing Department at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 199th anniversary of birth of Florence Nightingale on May 28th, 2019.

Over 300 nurses of the hospital were present at the ceremony to participate in various programs. The prize went to five senior nurses who had been chosen as role models among those recommended by colleagues as well as to three nurses who had won the idea contest for creating a better company culture. By introducing 28 selected "culture leaders" and the declaration of mutual respect, the ceremony provided all participants with a great opportunity to share thoughts and feelings with each other.

“Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital is striving to improve nursing culture by encouraging comfortable conversation and mutual respect,” said Director Jeong Mi Kim of Nursing Department. “I hope that not only the nurses but all colleagues at the hospital could enjoy healthy work cultures,” she added.

“I feel really grateful to our nurses for respecting and caring about each other with a strong sense of vocation. It must be very difficult for them to do so while being under extreme pressures of physical, mental, and emotional stress from a tense situation where they save people’s lives,” said Director Seong Ho Lee of Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital. “I will continuously give my full support to the activities for nursing culture improvement, and try to create a happier work environment,” he added.
