Hallym hosts Int'l Fellows Day

Hallym University Medical Center(HUMC) held ‘2016 International Fellows Day’ at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital on February 20, 2016. The event aimed at encouraging its international fellowship participants from all over the world and deepening friendship between fellows and Hallym members.


The Fellows Day event was attended by about 40 people including 13 fellows from Mongolia, China and India, Hallym Professors in various departments, and administrative staff from international services.


Followed by a brief introduction of HUMC and the fellowship program, each international fellow gave presentations. They explained the healthcare system of their home country and why they choose HUMC for advanced medical education. International fellows also shared their own experience and achievements during fellowship program.





Dr. Khishigjargal Purevsukh from Mongolia said, “I feel lucky to join this fellowship training in Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, the world-renowned burn specialty hospital. I did not only gain profound medical knowledge in burn and reconstructive surgery for burn patients but also learned well-organized treatment system including general surgery, plastic surgery, rehabilitation medicine, and psychiatry. I was very happy to participate in various events for Mongolian patients in Mongolia. I wish to thank everyone who helped me at Hallym.”


Dr. Liu Xiaoning from China who is a fellow at orthopedic surgery in Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital presented, “I have come to Hallym to learn its advanced surgical technique on joint disorders. I hope that this training program is mutually beneficial for both HUMC and Jilin University in medical development.





Professor Yul Lee, Director of Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital said in his welcome remarks, “We had inspiring times with passionate international fellows during this program. As a member of Hallym, I feel very proud to hear that our fellows make great progress in their home countries.” He added, “I do hope your training at Hallym would be memorable and rewarding.”






Since 2006, Hallym University Medical Center has been providing medical training programs to young and promising doctors in Asia, Europe and North America. More than 170 doctors from 16 different countries have joined the Hallym International Fellowship Program. The number of participants from India, China, and Indonesia is 56, 50, and 16 respectively. The international fellowship program is not just a training program but also serves as an opportunity to deepen friendship between doctors in both countries.
