Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Hallym University Medical Center(HUMC) has opened Hallym Institutes for Translational Medicine at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital respectively in April 18 and May 16, 2015.

Hallym Institutes for Translational Medicine are equipped with high-tech facilities and will be operated by talented experts for translational research. The new institutes will help researchers to activate academic network among departments and carry out translational researches on specific diseases which will be a momentum for realizing HUMC’s vision, ‘the best medical care and research institution with global competitiveness.’

President Hae-Ran Lee of HUMC stated, “In the spirit of ‘Mighty Hallym,’ we have been working on improving medical quality and customer satisfaction since 2003. At the same time, we have secured global competitiveness by strengthening our HR development programs.” Dr. Lee added, “Hallym Institutes for Translational Medicine will play a crucial role in helping our patients by upgrading clinical treatment and developing preventive medicine.

In 2010, HUMC declared its vision ‘Moving on to Be a Mighty Global Player with Unmatched Expertise through Medical Excellence.’ At the vision declaration ceremony, Hallym pledged a strong will to become a top-notch clinical and research institution by opening Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital in 2012 and Hallym Institutes for Translational Medicine in 2015.

As part of this plan, HUMC is also building a research institute at Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital with a scale of 5 floors above ground and 6 underground and it will be completed in July 2017. At the new facilities, doctors and scholars will be able to carry out researches in cancer, aging, neurodegenerative diseases and infectious disease.
