Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) adopted the newest ‘da Vinci Xi,’ the fourth-generation robotic surgical system, at the Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital, and Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital and runs the Robotic Surgery Centers at each hospital. A total of six Xi systems have been set up in Korea and three of them are in HUMC hospitals.

The newly set up ‘da Vinci Xi’ is an upgraded model of the former ‘da Vinci Si’ in function and convenience. It allows surgeons to perform complex procedures successfully. The new machine’s faster startup reduces the time of operation and its high-definition 3D camera helps physicians to do minimally invasive surgery.

Through the introduction of the ‘da Vinci Xi,’ surgeons at HUMC are able to pursue accuracy in surgical procedures for cervical cancer and myomectomy in obstetrics and gynecology, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer in urology, thyroid cancer, head and neck cancer in otorhinolaryngology, and gastric cancer and colon cancer in general surgery.

HUMC is expected to provide the most advanced surgical treatment for patients by closely working with world’s top-class hospitals in robotic surgery and sharing latest medical information and surgical technique with them.
