Kangnam signs an affiliation agreement with Jilin University Hospital

Leadership of Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital visited the Second Clinical Hospital of Jilin University in China to sign an affiliation agreement on academic collaboration and clinical training on Dec. 5, 2014.


The 15-member delegation of Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital led by Dr. Yul Lee, director of the hospital, Mr. Sung Dae Yoon, chief administrative officer, and Dr. Yong Wook Park of orthopedic surgery stayed the Second Clinical Hospital of Jilin University for two days and participated in the Korea-China Orthopedic Surgery Symposium.



The meeting comes after the official visit of Jilin University hospital’s director Xing-yi Zhang to Kangnam hospital in November. During their visit to Kangnam hospital, the two hospitals discussed ideas for academic cooperation and agreed to sign an affiliation.


With the new agreement, the Second Clinical Hospital of Jilin University will be able to send doctors and nurses for a short-term training at Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital. The two hospitals will actively work on performing joint researches, sharing medical information, and referring patients.



Founded in 1946, Jilin University runs three university hospitals and operates a combined 7,000 patient beds in the facilities.


The Second Clinical Hospital of Jilin University is among the oldest, boasting 2,900 patient-beds. The hospital is currently building a 4,000 patient-bed new hospital with 23rd floor high and it is scheduled to open in 2016.
