Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

The Ilsong Institute of Life Science at Hallym University held the 4th Hallym-Nagasaki-Extended Joint Meeting at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital on February 28, 2012.

Under the theme, ‘Aging, Re-generation and Re-construction,’ professionals from Korea and Japan shared their experiences and expert knowledge on anti-aging and geriatric diseases through presentations and lively discussions.

Nagasaki University has been playing a leading role in studies on neurodegenerative diseases as well as basic researches on aging mechanism in Japan led by professor Nozomu Mori of Anatomy & Neurobiology, and professor Isao Shimokawa of investigative pathology.

Since Hallym reached an affiliation agreement with Nagasaki University in 2007, two universities have held collaborative symposiums and carried out joint researches on geriatric medicine. They also have been working closely on faculty and student exchanges and the development of new projects in other academic fields.
