Hallym Trains Vietnamese Doctors on Hospital Management

No.3167 Date2012-01-19 Hit 29357

Hallym University Medical Center(HUMC) invited ten Vietnamese medical professionals who will work at the Quang Nam Central General Hospital to an eight-week training program, ‘A Training Course on Quang Nam Central General Hospital Management,’ from November 21, 2011, to January 15, 2012.

The trainees consisted of chiefs of each department including Dr. Le Viet Nho. They joined Hallym’s one-on-one personal training programs. It is intended for individuals who wish to learn more about their specialty areas and skills.

Hallym also plans to invite doctors, nurses, medical technicians and administrative staff of the new hospital in Vietnam to three other programs at Hallym, and to dispatch Hallym medical experts to Vietnam to convey their extensive medical knowledge.

Moreover, Hallym is going to hold an international symposium with some of its global partners in Vietnam in time for the opening of the hospital. It is expected that this occasion would serve as a valuable opportunity to share up-to-date medical knowledge and hospital management skills.

Since HUMC was designated as a Project Management Consultant(PMC) by the Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) in December 2007, it has been consulting for building a tertiary general hospital with 21 clinical departments and 500 patient-beds in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in Quang Nam province. The project is designed to further enhance public health and upgrade health infrastructure in Vietnam.

Dr. Hae-Ran Lee, president of HUMC, said “I hope that the skills you have acquired here at Hallym will greatly help improve healthcare of your people in Vietnam, and eventually will help further deepen friendly relations between Vietnam and Korea.”
