Kangnam Cares Foreign Workers with Free Checkups

Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital offered immigrants and workers from abroad free check-ups for cardiovascular diseases at the Mikael Hall of the hospital on July 7, 2011. The event attracted 83 foreign patients from various countries including China, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan.


The free check-ups for CVDs included taking blood pressure, a blood test, and ultrasonography on arteriosclerosis, followed by consultation of Kangnam professors.


A chief pastor of the Korean Chinese House who participated in the event said, “I wish to thank you Kangnam for welcoming us and offering the best medical care to the alienated foreign immigrants and workers with your cutting-edge medical equipment. All participants were greatly satisfied with your finest medical services.“


Dr. Jung Rae Cho, professor of cardiology who suggested this event said, “After the examinations, we found seven foreign workers with high-risk cardiovascular diseases. We are glad to help them start medical treatment. We will keep offering free exams to help foreign immigrants and workers get more medical benefits from us in the future.”
