Neurologists Seek Ways to Prevent Stroke

The 5th Hallym International Stroke Forum, organized by Hallym University’s department of neurology, took place at the Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital on April 23 under the theme of carotid revascularization for prevention of stroke.
Hallym invited two world-renowned professionals to this forum: Professor Claudio Barachinni at Padova University, Italy; and Professor Gene Sung at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), the U.S. Professor Barachinni, a neuro ultrasound specialist in Europe is a leader in carotid clinical research, and Professor Sung is currently Vice President of the Neurocritical Care Society.
President Hae-Ran Lee of Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) said in her congratulatory remarks, “Longevity in good health is turning into a reality today. The department of neurology at Hallym University is committed to playing a major role in realizing our dream.” “Today’s meeting bears an extra significance in that the theme is expected to shed a new light on dealing with deadly stroke,” She added.
Meanwhile, with being the fifth, the forum has been hosted by the department of neurology every year since 2007 with prominent neurological experts from the U.S., Japan, Sweden, and Italy working on the latest developments in neuroscience.
