Shin Helps Patients in Africa

No.2844 Date2011-03-28 Hit 29981

Dr. Il Young Shin of neurosurgery at Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital performed medical treatment for patients in Agadir, Morocco, from February 16 to March 2 this year as a member of the Global Image Care (GIC) which is a medical volunteer organization.

Dr. Shin said, “Due to lack of medical benefits, patients with malignant tumors usually have to wait almost four months. We have continued numerous treatment inquiries since our activities were broadcast by the Morocco National TV. I really hope to visit there again, help people who still need surgeries, and bring back their smile.”

The volunteer organization visited Ethiopia and Haiti to offer medical services last December and January, and plans to go to Ethiopia again for a second round of medical care next month.
