To provide multidisciplinary medical care and one-stop services for its patients, Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) has recently taken a bold step to reorganize its departments into specialized centers at the affiliated general hospitals beginning March 1.
According to sources at HUMC on February 25, the 40 new centers ─ 10 at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, 15 at Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital, 9 at Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, 6 at Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital ─ would be aligned to keep pace with the needs of society, focusing especially on severe diseases like cancer, which have been showing significant prevalence rates these days.
Hallym explained structural improvement is basically designed to upgrade the existing specialized clinical centers into being disease-specific centers.
