Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) won a prize for excellence in the private sector at the ‘Best Practice Contest on Private-Public Partnership 2010,’ which was hosted on December 2, 2010 by the Forum for Private-Public Partnerships and sponsored by The Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS), the JoongAng-Ilbo and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

In June, 2010, HUMC inked a partnership with the Rural Development Administration (RDA) to practically help rural communities, not simply with free medical treatment, but with rural support programs which include technical and medical supports for labor shortage, and consultation on village development.

The forum highly estimated Hallym for its services for the new model to remote two villages in Kangwon-do, which have turned out to be contributory to the improvement of the quality of life in the region, and creating partnership with the RDA.

Hallym plans to enhance bilateral cooperation with the government agency and apply its rural support model to other villages. They will also keep developing new programs through creating greater synergy with other institutions and pioneering projects to build ‘Finding Hope in the Green Rural Area.’

The Forum for Private-Public Partnerships, which consists of private corporations, civic groups, and government agencies has been holding various events to realize a new paradigm shift and create synergy for the national communities. Under the theme of “Partnership, Governance, and Advancement ― Creative Cooperation Beyond the Walls,” the recent contest aimed at exploring best practices among the central and local governments, public and private corporations, civic groups, and individuals.
