Hangang Launches 'Manna Project' to Support Burn Kids

No.2459 Date2010-03-12 Hit 32718

Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital's social work team will start the 'Manna Project' to help burn children with hospital bills. Beginning in February, it will last until December this year.

The project is to support children who are receiving treatment at Hangang but unable to get further medical services due to financial problems. Choi Su-jong and his wife Ha Hee-ra, who are famous Korean TV Actor and Actress, released an album, 'Hearty Love Songs', last November and will donate all proceeds to the Heart-Heart Foundation.

The couple's active participation has motivated this project. They came to learn about the event after one of Choi's close relatives suffered from burns all over his body. As the foundation for which they had been honorary ambassadors launched a project to help burn kids, the couple wanted to do something special to help burn kids. Then they brought up a concrete idea of cutting a charitable record.

Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, a state-designated emergency center, specializes in burn treatment. More than 200 patients are receiving treatment and hospitalized. The number of patients under 18 is increasing every year.

Dr. Chang Ho-guen, Director of the hospital, says, "This project will help burn children to grow up normally and our devoted medical care will minimize their dysfunction", appreciating the assistance of the Heart-Heart Foundation and the couple.
