Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Attended by 700-odd potential leaders who would initiate change and innovation, Hallym University Medical Center(HUMC) held a vision declaration ceremony, 'The 3rd Mighty Hallym Initiative 2012?2015,' at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel, on March 6, 2010.

With Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital and a translational research center being established in 2012 and 2015, respectively, the participants surveyed the performances of the first and second Mighty Hallym drives during the last seven years, and disclosed a new vision, 'Moving on to Be a Mighty Global Player with Unmatched Expertise through Medical Excellence.' At the opening, Dr. Hae-Ran Lee, President of HUMC, stated, "Hallym's cherished desire, 'The Best Medical Institution with Global Competitiveness,' is widely shared by all Hallym members. Our sincere belief will certainly be realized through our creativity and efforts."

Hallym's new initiative focuses on laying a firm foundation to upgrade itself by opening Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, and evolving further into 'The Best Clinical and Research Institution' by establishing the translational research center.

To embody such a towering ambition, HUMC hospitals will champion an integrated value for specialization and revitalization strategies, and make itself an institution where both personal and organizational values are met. These efforts would lead Hallym to catapult itself to become a Mighty Global Player with the top-of-the-line specialties. Dr. Dai-Won Yoon, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ilsong Educational Foundation, stressed, "We are gathered here today at the very moment of pledging ourselves to realize another great take-off. It is time to project our core competence and our organizational cohesiveness to the world."

A total of ten divisions including six medical and four supportive divisions, presented their specific ways to materialize the visions of the Mighty Hallym Initiative 2012 ? 2015. The presenters demonstrated their resolute will for action, and unflinching determination for achieving their own goals. A symbolic performance representing the ten specific areas to be specialized was also staged.

President Young-Sun Lee of Hallym University congratulated this meaningful occasion, saying, "Today, we the Hallym family have a new dream for change. We will achieve as much as we keep our dream alive. When we pull our energy and competence together, the dignity and brand image of Hallym will surely be advanced. I do believe in this vein, it would be no longer hard for us to be rank with global leaders."

At the ceremony, special awards were given to members who have achieved excellent records over the first and second Mighty Hallym drives. The ceremony ended with various performances of HUMC hospitals.
