Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital

Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital(KSHH) ranked among the nation's best hospitals for proper pre- and post-surgery administration of antibiotics in the second-year evaluation on the preventive administering of antibiotics by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service(HIRAS).

Like its first evaluation, the HIRAS carried out its second evaluation of hospital-level medical institutions between August and October, 2008 on eight surgeries including stomach and colon. The criteria for the second evaluation this year focused on treatment processes for initial preventive antibiotics administration, types of antibiotics to be avoided, and periods of their administration.
Among 304 hospitals evaluated, only 44 including Kangdong have been eligible to rank among the best group.
