No.1913 Date2008-12-15 Hit 30185

To celebrate 'A Stroke Prevention Week,' Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital invited some 200 local residents to provide them with health care services on stroke at Changjo Hall in the main building on November 20, 2008.

At the event, which aims to raise awareness of stroke and alert the people to early warning signs of stroke, neurology department staff at Kangdong checked 200 local residents free on charge, and gave open lectures as well.

Drs. Joo-Hun Lee and Joon-Hyun Shin, professors of the department of neurology, gave lectures on 'Prevention and Treatment of Stroke' and 'Stroke and Dementia.' Mi-Sun Kang, a social worker, presented 'A social welfare service for stroke patients and families.' A participant said, "The lectures were very helpful as doctors so kindly explained all the complicated medical information that even ordinary citizens could get the hang of it. I really hope to participate in lectures like here in the future."
