Hallym, Nagasaki Ink Agreement on Academic Cooperation

Hallym University and Nagasaki University in Japan reached an agreement on academic cooperation on March 23 this year. The agreement, signed in Japan, was designed to pursue academic and educational collaboration, and to enhance mutual understanding between the two universities.

Based on the accord, the Ilsong Institute of Life Science at Hallym University, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Nagasaki University, agreed to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding on academic cooperation on the same day. It was to confirm and set forth details of the program titled 'Asian Aging Core for Longevity,' an international collaborative program aiming at promoting research and education in the field of biomedical gerontology in Asian countries.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Hiroshi Saito, President of Nagasaki University, said, "It is my sincere hope our two universities will further enhance the friendly and cooperative relations by exploring joint research projects in medicine including geriatrics, and other areas of science." "I believe the successful launch of the academic exchange in the medical field will pave the way for promoting exchange of human resources" responded Dr. Sang Hoon Bae, President of Hallym University Medical Center.
